As age progresses, both the mind and body develop, but the pace of their growth varies significantly. Even during youth, when the body reaches its full development, a person may not be fully developed mentally. After this, the physical powers remain stable for a while in good condition but, as youth fades, they gradually begin to decline. However, is it necessary that the mind’s powers must also decline at this time? Certainly not. In fact, the right time for mental growth begins well after youth, and a person’s mind continues to develop. It is often observed that even when the body weakens due to old age, the mind retains its ability to function actively.

In the early stages of life, the body’s development lags behind the mind’s development. By the time a person reaches youth, physical growth surpasses mental development and then halts, but mental growth can continue into old age. However, this is only possible if one is determined to nurture it.

Those who are over 40 or 50 years of age might say, “Leave it, old age is approaching, it’s right in front of us. In such a state, it is unrealistic to expect success in a new mental endeavor.” This kind of reasoning and message leads to confusion. In reality, when college and university education ends, the true learning of life begins.

The purpose of human life is to improve in all aspects—physical, mental, moral, and spiritual. As previously mentioned, it is essential to continuously develop mental capacity throughout life. A person who attains happiness, respect, and peace can say that enhancing mental capacity has made life easier.

Here, we must understand what mental capacity means. There are three essential elements for performing any task effectively:

  1. The work must be done with precision and without carelessness or errors.
  2. The speed of completing the task should be efficient, finishing the given work in less time.
  3. The effort required to perform the task should be minimal, so that productivity is maximized.

By enhancing these aspects, you can make your work enjoyable. To achieve high-level mental capacity, it is crucial to approach tasks with new ideas, fresh methods, and innovative thinking—scientifically. When you work with mental capacity, you won’t feel fatigued.

Similarly, someone who is proficient in any subject will be able to read and remember things quickly. Likewise, writers, poets, and scientists apply their mental abilities to work more efficiently and with less mental exhaustion. Mental capacity can lead to success in any field.

Whether someone is old, young, or a child, we should all strive to gradually improve our mental proficiency, so that our lives become better, happier, and more successful.
